Does anyone know of a craft/project that can be done using earrings or other pieces of old jewelry?
I used to be into the whole big earring thing, and I have a lot of stray earrings that I don't wear anymore, or can't wear because I only have one out of each pair. I love to do arts and crafts, and I would like to use them for something really creative and pretty, but I can not think of what to do.
I was excited when I saw this question---I love old earrings, and of course
being 55, I have many which is the lonely "one" of a pair....as I lost some
along the way. One year, on a miniature Christmas tree, I hung the really
pretty ones with french hooks on the tree as the "ornaments" and it was very
pretty (and unique!).
Also, think beads. Take the earrings apart and re-design them as beads for
trimming a cell phone (those dangles are selling now!) or beads for a home
made (with love) bookmark.....the sky is the limit!
Also, take them apart and put together a new look in a newly created pair
of earrings or a necklace.....
There are many things to do with them and I think that is a great question!
Also, you can make a background for a pin. Cut out the shape out of light
weight poster board, a heart shape for example. Glue some lace on it,
and then with jewel glue or any good craft glue (I love Aleenes; don't have
stock in it so I hope it is ok to say that).....glue on some of the gems from your
earrings.....you can style a beautiful pin! Of course, glue a pin piece to the
back of it so you can wear it!
I hope you find some wonderful things to do with your earrings....what a
treasure you have.......wish I could sit and help you!
All the best to you,
